Qualifications
My journey to counseling began with a career in sales, where I found myself interested in hearing my buyers' stories and truly taking an interest in their lives. I received my MA in Applied Psychology from NYU and began working in Private Practice in 2018. I also hold a BBA from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#83120) in the state of Texas.
My Approach
Our journey together will begin with a one-hour intake where I will gather background info on you and your story. This will help me to get a better picture of you and what you're going through. It will also help me to develop a treatment plan in order to find the best approach for you. Theories I am passionate about include ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Theory), Mindfulness, Attachment, and Interpersonal.
Since we will be getting to know each other, I generally recommend meeting weekly for at least the first 4-6 sessions. Regular sessions will be around 45 minutes. I understand meeting weekly may not always be possible, and want you to feel that you are in control of your treatment.
I always want you to be a part of the process and appreciate your feedback as we work together. If something isn't working for you, let me know so that we can find a better solution together. Ultimately your growth is dependent upon you and how you implement the strategies we come up with together.
